Vintage Perfume & Vanity items from 1900 to 1990s

Coty
1920s Brass Counter Display

Click on each photo for larger view of it

  • This set was stored for 60 years. The bottles look like they haven't been opened in 80 years. All of the labels are not present. Legible ones are L'Aimant, Styx, Emeraude and Chypre de Coty. The other two bottles are Paris and L'Origan.

I have left this in the condition I purchased it in. I leave it to the new owner to decide whether to clean the set up or leave it as it is. Some bottles have more perfume than others. The bottles are crystal, made by Depinoix Glassworks.

Only the stopper in the bottle labeled L'Aimant can be removed easily. The rest I have not tried to open. You can see through the perfume and all the dabbers on the stoppers are intact.

The rack itself is brass, while the funnel I beleive to be silver. The counter display rack is 7 1/2" long and including the top of the bottles is about 2 3/4" tall. The bottles are 2 1/4" tall.

This is a rare Coty item for the collector. Only two of these have surfaced in the last 10 years. The set that sold on ebay in 2007, closed at $1250. The bottles were empty of perfume, and some of the bottles had broken daubers. This set is precious as the bottles and daubers are intact and the bottles still contain their original vintage perfume, and especially the infamous and much sought after parfum of Styx.

Guerlain Paris
L'Heure Bleue
1 oz Extrait Baccarat

  • This is a beautiful Baccarat bottle stamped on the bottom of bottle. It does have a flaw on the stopper. It is not visible, but inside the heart shape there is some rough edges. I tried to get a photo of it, it doesn't show when on display. Nice satin box in great condition. I might be more than an oz or slightly less as it is hard to discern with heavy, thick Baccarat bottles like this.

Cacharel
LouLou
1/4 oz full of perfume

Click on each photo for larger view of it

  • LouLou was inspired by the 1920s film star, Louise Brooke, who personified LouLou on screen. This is a beautiful deco inspired perfume bottle. The base is six sided blue milk glass and the top is some type of dense opaque plastic that has the appearance of bakelite. The label on the bottom is Cacharel, LouLou perfume. In great condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The bottom label is in excellent condition, but the photos reflects light and appears to have rough edge. A great addition to your perfume collection.

Jean Desprez
Jardanel

Click on each photo for larger view of it

  • Very nice, rare, collectable Jardanel perfume by Jean Desprez. This is an early bottle, from the first release of Jardanel. It first came out in 1917. It was re-released in 1973 as a limited edition.

The creator of Bal a Versailles, is the great-grandson of F Millot who created "Crepe de Chine." Jean Desprez was a top class perfumer by profession and a world class “trend setter” by nature. He employed Paul Mergier to design the packaging for his products, and Leon Leyritz to design the bottles.

It is a leathery chypre with notes of citrus, leather, myrrh, Peru balsam oil, vetiver and oakmoss.

The bottle without stopper measures 2 1/2" tall, 1 3/8" wide and 6/8" deep.

1800s French Perfume Presentation
Gorgeous bottle with case

Click on each photo for larger view of it

  • Here is a presentation to top off your wonderful collection. Truly a one of a kind item for the collector who thought they had everything.

Hand blown green glass, gilded gold Fleur d'Lys embossed bottle with the case that matches the design. The dauber and the bottom of the bottle are numbered to match. Presentation box is fabulous, with faded velvet lining and a wrought iron look. Bottom is wood.
There is a chip in the neck but does not go through to the inside of bottle, so dauber fits snug. Out of the thousands of bottles in my collection this was my pride and joy. More photos are available on request. Still has the scent of a fabulous old perfume.

  • Hi Deb,

Wow, I can't believe my Ode got here so quickly! She arrived in perfect shape. Great job wrapping it. Not a drop leaked. She is now in her place of honor in my curio cabinet, right up front so that I can see her easily! That is one gorgeous bottle.

    Thanks again.

    Take care, Mary
