Vintage Perfume & Vanity items from 1900 to 1990s

ID# 1403

Molinard
Coffret of Parfums
5 1 oz bottles of Parfum

  • These are 5 single flore parfums, consisting of 1 Jasmin, 1 Rose, 1 Violette and 2 Muguets. All bottles are sealed and mostly full. The Jasmin has experienced some evaporation.

These sealed vintage bottles sell individually, between $180 - $250. The Jasmin, Rose and Violette are extremely rare to find still sealed.

Molinard, a perfume house founded in 1849, is one of France's oldest family companies in Grasse, the international center of perfume. They are renowned for their quality and in their perfumes increasing in value.

I purchased this coffret in 2015 from an estate sale in Paris, France. The previous owner was a long time employee of Molinard. I doubt you will ever find another like this for sale. Box is in perfect condition with no stains and no damage.

Concreta Set of 3

  • This beautiful set from the 1940s is still sealed with a cellophane wrap, so I can't say for sure what scents these are. But I am almost positive the middle jar is Mimosa and I believe Habanita is usually in a black or red jar so I believe one is Habanita. Obsiously, these have never been used.

Concreta is a waxy perfume that is actually a by product of making perfumes and was the original way perfumes were worn. Ancient Egyptians wore concreta on top of their heads and the heat from the sun emanated the scent.

Myrurgia
Maderas de Oriente
1 oz Parfum in box

  • Not only is this a wonderful powdery sandalwood, but perhaps the best sandalwood perfume ever created. No doubt it is Mysore Sandalwood.

This vintage bottle is still sealed with its sealing wax stamp on the top and onion skin around the neck of the stopper. Inside the bottle are two sticks of sandalwood, which can be soaked in alcohol or other perfume oils after the perfume is gone and you will create another perfume of your making.

Maderas de Oriente by Myrurgia is considered an Amber fragrance and was first launched in 1918.

Top notes are Neroli, Bergamot and Citrus

Middle notes are Iris, Carnation and Jasmine

Base notes are Cumin, Sandalwood, Amber, Musk, Vanilla and Vetiver.

Embrujo de Sevilla
1/2 oz Parfum with box

  • Embrujo de Sevilla was launched in 1933. Created by Jean Carles. I believe this bottle from the 1940s. The outside of the box has scratches.

It is classified as an aldehydic woody floral fragrance for women. It starts off with a powdery aldehydic top note, followed by an elegant floral heart, resting on a sensual, powdery, woody base.

Top notes: aldehydes, mandarin, lemon, bergamot, neroli, strawberry, peach

Middle notes: carnation, rose, lilac, heliotrope, jasmine, rosewood, lily of the valley, ylang ylang, iris

Base notes: ambergris, tonka bean, vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, civet, tobacco, leather, benzoin, vanilla
